Warning: There’s some slightly not-safe-for-work imagery at the opening of this video. I’ve stared pretty intently at the film. And while there’s not much that would directly lead it to an “R” rating, it’s still a little risque for the cubicle farm. Try to watch this one at home. Bad Romance by Quixotica came highly recommended to me by Selserene . How could I not leap to check out a video with that kind of recommendation? When I viewed the film, I was in no way disappointed. Quixotica managed to create a breathtaking, beautiful video. Some of the dialogue is a little funny. “Purr for daddy” has become one of my favorite joke-lines around the house, and you can imagine how much my beloved fiancee loves hearing it. But I think Quixotica created this video with that kind of satire in mind, and I think she really drove home the genre and theme of her video. It’s about betrayal and hope, and she relies on a certain level of tongue-in-cheek self-awareness to keep those themes from becoming over-powering. If it had been any more over the top, it would have entered Twi light levels of angsty silliness. Quixotica should be commended for her artistic vision, and her ability to bring together video imagery with a wonderful soundtrack. I truly hope she picks up a second installment for this video, because I’d like to see where the story goes. Interested in the wide world of machinima ? Heres an article I found when surfing all about WoW Moviewatch: The Ballad of Matthias Lehner

Regular lore fans are probably pretty familiar with good old Matthias Lehner . It seems the little ghostly boy has some connection to the Lich King , and that story is one that’s sparked the imagination of many World of Warcraft players. Melvenor is helping to immortalize the young chap with the creation of The Ballad of Matthias Lehner . The video itself is actually relatively short. Its scenery and composition are both beautiful, drawing on the stark Icecrown landscapes to help highlight Melvenor’s story. The voice-acting was also pretty good, which made the video relatively easy to follow. It probably could have used a little more plot action to help keep the audience involved, but if you take the film as a genre piece, it all works out fairly well. At the end of the day, this is a nice addition the machinima about Lehner, so I’m curious to see what Melvenor will do next. Interested in the wide world of machinima ? It could be hard to imagine that our favorite four-button face-smashing Retribution Paladins were once less than superstars. However, the long-lived among us remember that in vanilla WoW , Paladins were largely buff dispensers in dresses, armed with a couple heals and the super-sexy Tier 2 Judgement set. In memory of the Paladins of that bygone era, Greyfoo has written the Pally DPS Song . Greyfoo’s song definitely has a handful of chuckle-worthy moments. I have to admit that it really drummed up some nostalgia for me. And while my Paladin sure isn’t rocking the Arena ladder, I still have to acknowledge that he’s doing about a billion times better than he was in the original game. I found Greyfoo’s animation suited just fine to his song. The music is fun and low-key, but satisfying. I hope Greyfoo had a good time creating this video, and that he comes back around to do more. Oxhorn’s seasonal shorts always seem to bring a little something extra to the holidays. He’s hit Halloween just in time by releasing Dalaran’s Costume Contest . If you can’t see the YouTube for some reason, you can also pick it up over at Oxhorn’s official web site . As the story goes, Oxhorn’s usual cast of characters are competing in the Hallow’s End costume contest. They spend a little time discussing the event, when Hat (the singing turtle) comes up and reveals his own clever disguise. I can’t go deeper into the story here, or I’ll ruin the punchline. And while it may make me a pop-culture junkie, I admit that I laughed out loud at the joke. An odd bit about this video, though, is that Oxhorn included almost a minute and a half of outtakes. I actually kind of love that stuff, since it gives a lot of personality and “humanity” to the actors in his machinima. I think it lets the audience get to know them a little better, which is almost always a good thing. Interested in the wide world of machinima ? You may remember Dtbn’s previous work, The Avenger . That movie was a success not only because of its incredible action sequences, but also because of an interesting underlying plot. It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from Dtbn. However, he’s just released the trailer to his upcoming new movie, Forgotten . For a trailer, the Forgotten teaser is much longer than you’d expect. It runs about two minutes, and features much more footage than most trailers ever bother with. It definitely looks like Dtbn is continuing his tradition of gripping action and intriguing, majestic style. While the release date is unclear, Dtbn mentions he’s looking for the movie to come out some time early in 2010. In the mean time, we have this teaser video to hint at the action to come.
