Raid Rx: Healing Onyxia

Hey guys heres a great article all about Raid Rx: Healing Onyxia

Every week, Raid Rx will help you quarterback your healers to victory! Your host is Matt Low , the grand poobah of World of Matticus and a founder of No Stock UI , a WoW blog for all things UI, macro, and addon related. Onyxia’s the latest raid boss to challenge healers. Here’s some phase-by-phase tips to help you get through the ordeal. I finally managed to heal this fight through a lag infested night when patch 3.2.2 landed. Onyxia was a pain in the butt to heal at level 60. Have things changed since then? No, not by much. In some of the pickup Onyxia groups I joined on my alts, I’ve seen tanks drop several times. I don’t want to guess who the blame should go on to (tank or healer) but I’ll provide some pointers and observations for all the healing classes to help streamline the entire healing process. My colleague, Matthew Rossi, has written a fairly detailed piece on what the entire raid can expect throughout Onyxia’s various phases . While the encounter is easy in terms of theory, in practice it can still be challenging for healers if they let their guard down. Do not take Onyxia too lightly. Hey guys heres a great article all about If Cataclysm were to include a new class, what would it be?
Ultimate WoW Guide

This morning I want to play the hypothetical game a bit and talk about what would happen if Cataclysm included a new class. Not only what it would be, but how it would fit into the overall balance of WoW . And just to be clear, there won’t be a new class in Cataclysm. Numerous Blizzard employees have stated that doing one new class an expansion would be too much work (paraphrased, don’t go complain to your favorite blue that this was a direct quote). The Death Knight in Wrath of the Lich King was the first class introduced to WoW , and it’s inclusion in the game has had mixed reviews. Most folks agree that the class provided a great new element to play in the game, however its balance in raids and PvP is something that is constantly under the microscope. Ghostcrawler has mentioned numerous times that the Death Knight has taken up more time to balance in Wrath than any other class. This is problematic for numerous reasons, but has been able to be handled nicely by the designers and programmers (I’m sure there’ll be some who disagree, however show some restraint in your disagreement). So now for the hypothetical part — if Blizzard were to introduce a new class in Cataclysm , I would suspect that it would be the healing counterpart to the Death Knight. Mechanics of the class would probably operate similar to the Death Knight’s rune system: each small heal or heal over time would be castable based on an available rune, which would in turn generate runic power for larger heals. The class would rely less on spam type heals (such as the Paladin , to some extent), and more on preventative heals (such as the Druid , to some extent). Heres an article I found when surfing all about Brewfest 2009: New piece of Direbrew loot enabled
Zygor Guide

Click here to learn how to level fast

A new piece of loot has shown up on the live realms today — one that has all the servers abuzz. For the intrepid adventurers fighting off Coren Direbew they might be rewarded with a Bind on Equip 1H Mace that every budding Enhancement Shaman will want to get their claws on. The mace is an iLevel 226 item and has a DPS output of 171.5 — making it on par with the very best 1H weapons out of 25-man Naxx. Full stats are in the picture above. It looks like, well, a tankard. Just like the other glasses that are in the game. I don’t necessarily get why it’s “O’ Terror,” that would sound like it belongs more with the upcoming Hallow’s End than Brewfest, but that’s just me. Either way it’s quite a nice mace that’s going to make a lot of Enhancement Shamans happy. It can also make your wallet a little fatter if you’re lucky enough to get it (it does have a low drop rate). They’re selling for between 4k to 5k gold. I would suspect that’ll decrease substantially in the next few days however. If you really want it and don’t want to spend that kind of gold, Brewfest is running for a while still — you’ll have until October 3rd to get your hands on one. For more Brewfest information, check out our Guide to the 2009 Brewfest Achievements and the rest of the updated level 80 Direbrew loot .
