Blizzard is milking Mr. T’s mohawk for all its worth in yet another ridiculous commercial. At the risk of being a complete downer, I have to ask: Is anybody else bored with this campaign? I admit that I laughed and laughed at the original Mr. T WoW commercial (and probably contributed to this campaign’s birth) but enough is enough. Are you advertising World of Warcraft or a line of Mr. T hair care products? Anyway, you can watch the commercial above and if you weren’t yet aware of it, you can pick up mohawk grenades in the various starter zones throughout Azeroth. But please, for my sanity and your safety, don’t throw them at me. There might be repercussions if you know what I’m sayin’. For the past day WoW.com has been hard at work getting the story straight on the discrepancies between what the Las Vegas Convention Center was saying about BlizzCon 2010 , and what Blizzard was saying. Until recently, the LVCC had been telling us, and others, who inquired that BlizzCon 2010 was being held there July 30th and 31st. Blizzard was, more or less, denying it. Given both organizations are quite large and reputable, this was quite a confusing situation. However as of this afternoon, the Las Vegas Convention Center emailed us to let us know that due to their human error, the confirmation they were giving was false. According to the LVCC, Blizzard and the LVCC had spoken once about having BlizzCon 2010 in Las Vegas, and a hold was placed on those dates as a marketing tactic to entice Blizzard to the area. However, that hold was inadvertently turned into a confirmed booking, leading to the inaccurate confirmations and resulting issues. The LVCC has apologized for the confusion, and thus ends the saga of BlizzCon in Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Convention Center website , Blizzard will be holding BlizzCon 2010 in Las Vegas July 30th and 31st . Upon inquiry, the Convention Center was able to verify the dates and that Blizzard is running the event. However, Blizzard has yet to announce this themselves. We have contact Blizzard, and we’ll post anything they have to say on the matter. BlizzCon is the major fan convention for all of Blizzard’s games. Past BlizzCons have launched all the WoW expansions, including Cataclysm this last August. BlizzCon 2009 had approximately 20,000 attendees. According to the Convention Center’s website, BlizzCon 2010 will be bringing in 30,000 people. You can place money on the bet that WoW.com will be there covering everything. In fact, we’ll meet you at the blackjack tables. Viva Las Vegas, baby! Update : Blizzard has responded to let us know that they haven’t announced any details regarding their next BlizzCon, and that they recommend everyone refrain from making any travel plans at this time. However, the Las Vegas Convention Center has confirmed this booking and continues to list it on their calendar. Filed under: Blizzard , BlizzCon BlizzCon 2010: July in Las Vegas! Pandaren pet "sold out" on Blizzard store

Found this article when I was searching the internet

In an unexpected and strange twist in Blizzard’s latest microtransaction saga, the Pandaren Monk vanity pet has apparently sold out on the Blizzard pet store. A mere week after the in-game pets were announced for sale on Blizzard’s new pet store, the Pandaren Monk can no longer be purchased on US realms (as of this writing, it is still available on the Blizzard EU and Blizzard KR stores). That the Pandaren Monk would sell out comes as a surprise because, well, it’s a virtual item. It’s like Agent Smith . It never runs out. Unless, of course, Blizzard designed it that way, in which case there must have been a massive failure of communication somewhere down the line because it doesn’t say anything about the Pandaren Monk being a limited item anywhere. It’s also notable that Blizzard had committed to donating 50% of all proceeds from Pandaren Monk sales to the Make-a-Wish Foundation all the way through December 31. If the Pandaren Monk were to disappear, it should at least be expected to last until the end of 2009, right? We think this is an inventory error, where some number had to be inserted into the Blizzard Store’s inventory management system, like some number “over 9000″. Likely this will be easily corrected, and when it is, we’ll update this post accordingly. Thanks to Papa Shok for the tip.
