Blizzard has made it a holiday tradition to release a holiday card every year (usually drawn by Samwise), but this year they’re putting a little twist on it. They’re running a contest asking the potential artists among you to submit your own original Blizzard-themed holiday card . Download their template, fill it up with Diablo, Starcraft , or Warcraft -related holiday art (no Lost Vikings or Rock N’ Roll Racing art, apparently), submit it on the contest page before December 7th, and you can win a whole slew of prizes from Blizzard and Razer, including a mouse, keyboard, and headset, as well as a signed copy of Blizzard’s 2009 holiday card from Samwise himself. So artists, get to, um, “art”-ing! We can’t wait to see your rendition of Deathwing as Santa Claus, Kerrigan as the Mrs., and a whole tribe of Fallen Ones standing in for the little elves. Heres an article I found when surfing all about The importance of the Wrathgate story in Icecrown Citadel

Zubon of Kill Ten Rats has been playing through Northrend lately , and it sounds like he’s right around where my paladin is: working through the Wrathgate questline . The zombie invasion was the most important kickoff event for this expansion, but especially with what we’ve been seeing of Icecrown ( spoilers there) lately, it looks like the events that went down at Angrathar might be the defining moments of Wrath of the Lich King . So much we’re seeing in Icecrown and even beyond seems to be debris spinning off of the clash in that cinematic . Zubon has mostly high praise for the storyline — I agree that Borean Tundra and the Howling Fjord are preludes to the real anti-Scourge action you find in the Wrathgate questline. But then he goes one step further, and says that the end just shows how old Blizzard’s game really is. Even while such an epic story is unfurling, graphical glitches and the realities of Blizzard’s game (one of the phases is essentially an ongoing fight in which you personally have no effect) bring the experience back down. Wrathgate is certainly an epic event, and every indication is that we’re going to be feeling its repercussions a lot in the next dungeon. But five years after launch, it’s also a sign that Blizzard is pushing this old game as hard as they can. Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King . With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to the Arthas. WoW.com’s Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news. In an unexpected and strange twist in Blizzard’s latest microtransaction saga, the Pandaren Monk vanity pet has apparently sold out on the Blizzard pet store. A mere week after the in-game pets were announced for sale on Blizzard’s new pet store, the Pandaren Monk can no longer be purchased on US realms (as of this writing, it is still available on the Blizzard EU and Blizzard KR stores). That the Pandaren Monk would sell out comes as a surprise because, well, it’s a virtual item. It’s like Agent Smith . It never runs out. Unless, of course, Blizzard designed it that way, in which case there must have been a massive failure of communication somewhere down the line because it doesn’t say anything about the Pandaren Monk being a limited item anywhere. It’s also notable that Blizzard had committed to donating 50% of all proceeds from Pandaren Monk sales to the Make-a-Wish Foundation all the way through December 31. If the Pandaren Monk were to disappear, it should at least be expected to last until the end of 2009, right? We think this is an inventory error, where some number had to be inserted into the Blizzard Store’s inventory management system, like some number “over 9000″. Likely this will be easily corrected, and when it is, we’ll update this post accordingly. Thanks to Papa Shok for the tip.
