World of Warcraft General Archives

Don’t Buy A WoW Gold Guide.

The days of gold guides for Warcraft are numbered. The times of referring to a book to tell you what to do in the game to make gold are coming to an end.

Let’s face it, reading a PDF document while playing is not really state-of-the-art is it? One minute you are playing, the next clicking on a pile of text trying to work out where to go to grind or farm materials, or what items might be cheap at the Auction house that day.

If you think about it, even the name “guide” is not really what you are after. If you climb a mountain for example a guide is someone who tells you the route and walks with you. Maybe telling you where it’s safe to camp and help carry the equipment.

Now I’m not knocking guides. They have played their role in the Warcraft economy, but their days are numbered. They really don’t cut it any more.

Some have seen this coming and have called the guides they make “systems”. Now I’ve seen these “systems” and let me tell you, they aren’t particularly good. A system is a procedure designed to achieve a result. The “systems” I’ve seen go along the lines of.

1 – Refer to the guide provided

2 – That’s it, please go back to step one

Sure, some have added a little bit of code here and there that you can cut and paste into the Warcraft macro GUI to speed up buying and selling. So what? Folks, here’s the thing. There are websites that give you this information free.

If it’s macros you are after, may I direct your attention to Wowwiki. Every possible macro for just about every possible event you can think of in the game. The hard bit is accessing them. Now follow closely. Ready? First you select the macro and “copy” then you go into your Warcraft interface and press “paste” got that? So “copy” then “paste”. Practice it a few times. Man If you bought a guide for auctioneer help and a few macros? You must feel a little sick now. You just paid for free inferior information. Ouch.

You want macros? Great! WoWwiki has a whole section with Warcraft macros, with examples of just about every one you can think of for every character type, race, profession and event in the game. You just copy and paste these straight into the Warcraft GUI. If you bought a “system” guide, then it will be a normal text document, with these two free elements added, then rebadged as a “system”. At least every one I’ve ever read has been like this. If you paid good money for this rehash of free information, then that’s gotta hurt. Sorry.

What Warcraft needs is a real system. Something where you press a button, and the inner workings of your servers’ economy gets ripped open.

Legal, safe, fully compliant with Blizzards terms and conditions. Yet powerful and simple to use. So simple anyone could be using it within five minutes.

Imagine, no more grinding, no more farming, no “messin’ and guessin’” at the auction house’ A quick install, then a real system that does everything for you.

I don’t know about you, but rolling a new character in Warcraft is always something I do with mixed emotions.

Sure I’m really looking forward to exploring the possibilities of a new class combination, but first I need to fix my mind. I have done this many, many times in the past. Do I want to do it all again?

Well, of course I want to. I could wait for all the changes that will come with Cataclysm of course, this will refresh the early levelling process no end.

However, once I actually get into the character generation screen, another problem. The characters themselves. They all seem so limited.

How dull and uninspired the preset character faces and styles are.

Rolling a human really brings it home to me. There seems very little choice, and what choice there is – is between characterizations that really do not appeal to me at all. I mean, this is a face and character I’ll be playing for hour after hour. It would be nice if it was an enjoyable spectacle.

Back in 2005, the limitations were excusable. Both the ability of computers to draw and render good facial expressions was more limited, then there was the issue of broadband speed being generally several factors slower than it is now, making the caching and uploading of many different facial designs an issue.

Another counter argument is that once people get to the level cap it’s all about the armour. I agree with that – but even that’s a shame. There is only one tier 10 BiS for each class/talent combination so you still end up with very similar looking characters at the end of the game.

Now there are any number of games, many by publishers with a fraction of the resources available to Blizzard, who let you customize everything right down to the shade of pink on your new characters nail polish.

So how about it then Blizzard, what about letting us design the style and look of characters we actually would like to play?

Sadly, having seen the trailers so far for Cataclysm, it isn’t something they are considering any time soon.

A Horde leveling guide is no doubt the best way for anyone to level up their Horde toon fast and easy. Such a leveling guide is needed these days because there are a lot of levels to go through and the players have a lot of end game content to go through. So leveling up a character should be done fast so that they will have enough time to do top level raids, instances and PvP. However, picking a good Horde leveling guide can be tricky, that’s why I decided to make a list of things you should watch for in a leveling guide to make sure it will help.

1. You need to analyze the website from where you want to get the leveling guide from. It should be clean and without any advertisements other than their own products. Also, make sure that the website has a sample of the guide so you can see how it looks like. A sample there also means that the owner is confident with his leveling guide which is good news for you.

2. A good guide to use must have an optimized quest path. The problem with leveling in WoW isn’t that there aren’t enough quests or they are hard to find, it’s that they are too many and spread out over large areas. So a guide must take you through all those quests in an organized fashion to save time and increase leveling speed. The effectiveness of the guide depends entirely on how well the quest path is made.

3. The format in which a Horde leveling guide is available is also very important. You should only look for leveling guides that are made as add-ons that can be used directly in your game UI. That makes it very easy to use and follow. Not only that but it makes leveling go a lot faster not having to alt tab all the time to see what you need to do.

4. One last thing to keep an eye out is the money back guarantee. A Horde leveling guide that has a refund options can only be a good one. This option is also good if you don’t like the leveling guide you got for some reason. You must make sure that the guide is sold through a legitimate online service that will honor your request to have your money refunded.

Once you got all of those out of the way, you can start leveling like crazy and enjoy the high-end content of the game, there’s plenty of it. I would also like to add that there is simply no point in leveling slow in WoW anymore, there is so much to do and so little time to do it that you should really get some outside help, in this case, a Horde leveling guide.

Since the day my first character was born in Warcraft, I\’ve been in the service of light, supporting the good guys of Alliance. When our world has extended its frontiers and WotLK was launched, me and my guildies decided to start new toons, preparing ourselves to conquer Naxxramas, Ulduar and lately, Icecrown Citadel. But when it comes to leveling I\’m pretty slow and since I was the new off-tank they couldn\’t begin start raiding without me, therefore one of them mailed me an Alliance leveling guide which helped me a lot.

This nicely made Alliance leveling guide not only told me where to go and what to do, it also provided me with a great leveling path and with a wide range of tips to make my progress fast and smooth. So, I\’m going to share a few here.

1. Grinding is way much boring and much less lucrative than questing in World of Warcraft. So, no matter what you do, if you want to raise a character in this game, questing is a great alternative, regardless if you play on Alliance or Horde.

2. It\’s very important to associate quests as you\’re leveling up. Never go to some forgotten corner of a certain area if you only have a quest there. Permanently work on several quests and after you complete them, turn them in in large numbers. This way you will manage time better.

3. Some of the quest chains have elite quests in the last phase. The Alliance leveling guide I\’ve been working with has taught me to skip them but keep them in my quest log just in case. They usually reward you with a lot of XP and nice gear. This works nicely especially if 4-5 quests are in an instance. With a good group (or a booster) you can finish the instance in no time and get a big chunk of XP as reward.

4. Always keep your quests 2-3 levels lower than your character. As you\’re questing, your aim is the XP reward. If your quests are green you will be able to complete them much faster and without dying. Also, this way you\’ll be able to finish even elite quests, solo, without any help.

5. Make sure you choose the right spec for leveling your character. The best choice you can make for a leveling spec is a combination of area-of-effect abilities and talents. This way you will be more effective while killing mobs and run through quests much faster. For example, I used a lot my bear form as a druid, and some defensive gear to kill at least 4-5 mobs at one time.

Following the polished quest path of an Alliance leveling guide, I managed to level up my last character in less than 7 days. These tips should be helpful at least a little to anyone playing on WoW Alliance.

I\’ve been playing World of Warcraft since the day it was launched, but to level my first character in this fantasy universe it took me two whole months. After a while, I wanted to roll a new toon, but just thinking of two months of leveling I was giving up everytime before even creating the character. The best solution for speed leveling was Joana\’s Leveling Guide. So, if you\’re interested in a WoW leveling guide for Horde, here are the features of this guide:

1. Firstly, Joana\’s Leveling Guide, is written as a PDF and can be printed. It\’s a step-by-step leveling guide, showing exactly what you must do or where to go to finish about 90% of the Horde quests in the game. It has an optimized quest path designed for speed leveling and for every class in the game.

2. It has colored maps and each step of the guide corresponds with a number on the affiliated map. This way you\’ll be able to know right away what your quest route in that particular area will be. Each quest is directly linked to Thottbot, Allakhazam or Wowhead. You can find additional information on these sites if you get stuck at some point.

3. Joana\’s Leveling Guide also has an in-game version. It\’s a program that functions like a World of Warcraft addon, which can be added to the game interface. This version of the guide brings the step-by-step text of the guide inside the game and you won\’t have to alt+tab all the time to see what you must do next. You can track your quests with Joana\’s guide directly in game.

4. Joana\’s Leveling Guide is up to date providing information for all the quests in WotLK. However, the WotLK portion of the guide is sold separately from the 1-70 part, but considering the consistence of the information in this guide, it\’s worth the investment.

5. Last but not least, Joana\’s Horde Leveling Guide has an 1-60 movie that shows exactly what Joana does for every quest in the game. This way you will get your answer even for the trickiest Horde quests in the game.

In conclusion, Joana\’s Horde Leveling Guide is one of the best guides for Horde. Although Joana is usually a hunter, the guide is designed to work for every class in World of Warcraft. Following the quest routes in this guide, and doing exactly what it instructs you to do, not only you will just increase your leveling speed, you will also be able to take a character to the end game in less than seven days.
