Gearing Your WoW Warrior

If you want to work your way up to being an unstoppable tank in WoW, you want to play as a Warrior. Paladins can be a bit more flexible, but Warriors can absorb incredible amounts of damage. But like with any other class in WoW you need to know the best ways to keep a Warrior geared. In fact the Warrior class relies on gear more heavily than any other.

In the first place, consider taking the mining and blacksmithing professions. This is a very popular profession for warriors, and you will find not only can you keep yourself well geared, you can also make money through selling things on the auction house. At the level cap, you will be making some very good armor that is perfect for use in the end game, and you can make it for yourself and sell it.

As a warrior, you are going to be a plate wearer. This means that you have the toughest armor in the game, but remember that armor rating isn\’t the only thing that you need to look for. The bonuses that the individual armor gives you to your traits are also going to be important, so consider which stats you should keep an eye out for.

For instance, as a warrior, the top trait that you need to be aware of is your strength. Items that are going to add to your strength rating are quite important. Your strength rating will add to your attack power and if you want to deal damage, this is quite important.

If you\’re having trouble finding suitable gear that boosts your strength rating look for gear that will boost your stamina instead. With higher stamina comes a longer health bar, this is beneficial as you won\’t be able to wear any plate armor til you hit level 40! And if you\’re planning on being the party tank you\’ll want gear with a high defense bonus.

Many warriors carry different sets of armor that will aid them in different tasks. You will have one set that allows you to dps better, which allows you to be a damage support in your group, but if you tank you will have another set.

Once you have your gear you also need to know how to take care of it. Since Warriors are a melee class your armor is going to take a real beating. Make sure that you repair your armor regularly, if you\’re a member of a large guild some of your fellows will repair for a fee.
