Utilizing Your Death Knight
In the aftermath of the popular WoW’s new hero class in Wrath of the Lich King, it seemed like everyone was flocking to make use of the new character. Now that some time has passed, many have turned their backs on the level 58 Death Knights. If you still play a Death Knight, however, you will see that this class still has a lot to offer its fans.
Among the best damage dealers, Death Knights are excellent “tanks” which is an important and pivotal part of any successful fighting group. If you are considering making the switch from a ranged fighter class, there are a few things you will want to keep in mind.
To start, keep in mind while playing a Death Knight that you’ll inflict more damage if you are coming at the mob you’re battling from behind. If you stay behind the mob, you don’t need to be concerned with it blocking you or your blow or simply evading your strikes. Although this isn’t possible if you’re alone, you can do so within a group. During hard times, this can really help you out.
You also need to keep in mind while playing a Death Knight that you always need to maintain your diseases at a high level. To Death Knights, diseases are much the same as curses to a Warlock. You’re going to do much better if you have a higher quantity. Since macros can assist you in keeping them up, think about which ones you would like to use.
Keep in mind that you still can inflict damage regarding aggro even if you happen to be specced for melee if you’re using a Death Knight. Keep this in mind if you come across a running job since you won’t want it to bring along all the mobs it happens to find as it returns!
Death Grip is useful in this situation. Hordes on the run can almost wipe out a party and sometimes your tank will not be able to deal with the caster because they will be situated out of line of sight. Luckily, as a Knight, you will most likely be wearing plate which will make it easier for you so absorb aggro and hold your position than another warrior class in lighter armor.
There are a lot of good possibilities when you are playing a Death Knight. A good Death Knight guide can be very helpful and will contain tips and suggestions for giving your character better damage output. The Death Knight character is far from obsolete, take another look. It will be worth it.
